HAMPTON, Ga. — Tyler Reddick’s early-season momentum showed no signs of slowing Sunday as he battled back from late trouble to win the Autotrader 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a dramatic double-overtime finish.
Fresh off a Daytona 500 victory the previous week; which marked the first for 23XI Racing co-owner Michael Jordan. Reddick secured his second straight NASCAR Cup Series win by beating Chase Briscoe by 0.164 seconds at the finish.
Reddick began the day from the pole and led the field to the green flag but did not control the race’s opening segment, as Austin Cindric captured the Stage 1 victory. The No. 45 Toyota remained a factor throughout the event, finishing fourth in Stage 2 while teammate Bubba Wallace claimed the stage amid numerous cautions.
Incidents played a major role in shaping the race’s outcome. With 37 laps remaining, Reddick was swept into a multi-car crash exiting Turn 4 that also involved Denny Hamlin, AJ Allmendinger, Chris Buescher, Joey Logano, Connor Zilisch, Michael McDowell, Alex Bowman and William Byron.

Another crash in Turn 3 on lap 258 forced a red flag, briefly halting the race and setting up a tense finish. Overtime became necessary after the restart, and a wreck involving Reddick, Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, Carson Hocevar and Wallace during the first overtime attempt pushed the race into a second extra period.
On the final restart, Reddick powered the lead and held off Briscoe to secure the victory, becoming the first driver since Matt Kenseth in 2009 to win the first two races of a NASCAR Cup Series season.
