Daytona Beach, Fla. – The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season opened in dramatic fashion Friday night as Chandler Smith powered his No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford to victory in a breathtaking four-wide finish at the Fresh From Florida 250.

The win marked Smith’s first career Superspeedway victory. His previous best finish at a drafting track was third at the Talladega Superspeedway race in 2020.

“It’s really special,” Smith said, “To have my first Superspeedway win come in a fashion like it did, especially with the highlight of how last night went, I just want to circle back to the testimony of God’s hand working in my life and my career.”

The race featured constant battles at the front of the pack and intense side-by-side racing throughout the field. Despite the aggressive drafting typical of Superspeedway competition, the field avoided major incidents, keeping the event largely green and competitive.

“It was fun. I was thoroughly impressed with how out of control I seen so many trucks tonight, how out of control those trucks were tonight, and we didn’t have as many wrecks,” said Smith. “I bailed I think halfway through the first stage specifically because I was like, these jokers are about to junk it. I want to make it to the end of this thing. And they were able to keep it all going straight. So I was pretty impressed by it.”

The season opener also drew added attention with high-profile entrants, including three-time Cup Series champion Tony Stewart, action sports star Travis Pastrana, and popular YouTube personality Garrett Mitchell, known as Cleetus McFarland. Amid the spotlight and heightened intensity, Smith remained composed.

“I’ve been laser-focused on my 38 team and focused on the goal at hand,” Smith said. “Changing the mentality of playoff racing, how you approach each race, knowing how the playoffs are formatted so now we’re in the Chase, it’s just so much different.”

The Truck Series now shifts its focus to EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta, where Smith will look to carry his early momentum deeper into the 2026 season.
